Matthew Lewis, the 26-year-old actor who played Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, was 12 years old when the first film came out. These days, Lewis tries to avoid watching the films, he answers laughing, when asked on a British morning show if he ever watches the films. He remains grateful for the experience and says that he had ‘the most amazing time’, but admits that he does not like seeing his Hogwarts character.
A Child with Crooked Teeth
He feels guilty for sounding cynical about it, but in hindsight, he knows how fantastic it was. He says it’s like watching home videos from the yesteryears of childhood. So, how has it been for the actor after fourteen years?
The most noticeable change when you see him? Orthodontics happened and puberty definitely run its course.
An orthodontist in Milton Keynes says treating irregularities in the position of the teeth often involves issues like overcrowding and buck teeth. Orthodontics serves as the healthiest way of improving the appearance of a person’s smile. And obviously, it has been effective for Lewis.
As Neville Longbottom, he had been under contract to not have his crooked teeth fixed. But he now flashes a perfect smile, transforming into a heartthrob and expanding his repertoire as an actor.
He smiles confidently, flashing his pearly whites, as cameras snap photographs.
On British Selfies: A Survey
Recent surveys have revealed how people are more likely to hide their teeth when smiling for a photo. A mere 29% admit they would smile with lips wide open when posing for a photo. Why?
Of the 71% who would rather hide their teeth in selfies, 33% say they do so because of discoloured and crooked teeth. Although there exists a 75% who would choose to smile, a collective of people do not like showing their teeth. The same survey also reveals that 55% of adults in the UK admit to only brushing their teeth once a day. This is likely the reason people shy away from taking toothy selfies.
Taking cue from Lewis, orthodontics, along with restorative and preventative dentistry, are ways to achieve a smile perfect for any selfie.
